This is my version of Chicken Parmesan, no breading. The chicken comes out nice and moist, and we like it saucy! Great served with a side of risotto, and the veggie of choice. It's a quick and easy meal to put together.

Ingredients For saucy parmesan chicken

  • 2 to 4
    boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 12 oz
pizza sauce or your favorite pasta sauce
  • shredded or grated parmesan cheese
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • italian seasoning or oregano

How To Make saucy parmesan chicken

  • 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish, and brush the tops lightly with olive oil. Bake for 20 minutes.
  • 2
Remove the chicken from the oven, carefully pour off juices, and reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
  • 3
Generously sprinkle the top of the chicken with parmesan cheese. Spoon the pizza sauce on top of the parmesan, and around the sides of the breasts. You might not have to use all of the sauce, if only making 2 breasts. Lastly, top with mozzarella cheese, and a sprinkle of Italian seasoning, or oregano.

Then, back into the oven, until the sauce is hot, and the cheese is melted. Approximately 10 minutes. Remove from oven and serve!

*** If the chicken breasts are thick, I suggest pounding them down a bit.
