This is another recipe that was handed down to me from my mom. It makes excellent Pesach mandelbrodt and has a unique texture and taste. I even like to make it when it isn't Passover.

Ingredients For momma dee's mandelbrodt

2 cmatzo meal

1 cwalnuts, chopped (optional)

1 coil or softened butter

1 tsporange peel, grated

2 tsplemon peel, grated

4 Tbsppotato starch (kosher for passover)

1 1/2 cwhite sugar
-
1 csemi-sweet mini chocolate chips
-
2large eggs
How To Make momma dee's mandelbrodt

1DRY MIX: matzoh meal, nuts, starch together in one bowl

2Beat eggs until foamy, then add sugar and beat well. Add oil, orange, sugar, and lemon peel

3Gradually add dry mix to wet mix. Add chips last after thoroughly combined. Refrigerate overnight for best results.

4Next day, divide dough into 3 long rolls (by hand, not pin) shaping them into logs while on cooking sheet.

5Bake for 25 min @ 325 deg F. Remove sheet, and slice logs into 1" thick pieces, lying them on their cut edge. Bake another 15 - 20 min until done. Allow to cool completely before removing from pan.
