Ingredients For broccoli casserole

  • 1 md
    egg
  • 20 oz
    chopped broccoli
  • 1/2 c
    dukes mayonnaise
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 Tbsp
    finely chopped white onion
  • 1 to 1 1/2 c
    shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Eyeball it
    pepperidge farm herb seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 stick
    salted butter

How To Make broccoli casserole

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine egg(whisked), mayonnaise, cream of mushroom, onions, and cheese in medium bowl mix well. Pour into casserole dish. Spread a layer of bread crumbs on top entire casserole. About 1/4 inch deep layer is enough. Melt butter and spoon thinly on top of the bread crumbs evenly. You may need additional butter. My mother prefers to take very fine( thin) pats of butter and place them 1/2 inch apart until the bread crumbs are some what covered. Be sure to not over do it.

    Place in oven and bake 45 to 50 minutes. Top will be golden brown.

    Remove from oven let cool for 10 to 15 minutes and serve.
